PEOPLE IN EXILE
Ama Adhé's experience of torture, death and destruction under
the Chinese communist occupation is a mirror reflecting the Chinese
policy of annihilating the Tibetan culture and the Tibetan identity
inside Tibet. Her solid determination, unflinching perseverance, a quiet
sense of equanimity in face of distress and deep faith in religion exemplifies
the characteristics of the Tibetan people and their strength in challenging
a huge power like China. Through her, we discover the life of Tibetan
people in exile: their sad past memories; their present struggle; their
hopes and fears for the future.
The set up of the
documentary has a fictional touch with 2 main actors, an old lady and
a young boy, departing on a mission to see the Tibetan refugee settlements
and encounter the people in charge of various sectors concerning the
life of the refugees .
