PEOPLE IN EXILE

Ama Adhé's experience of torture, death and destruction under the Chinese communist occupation is a mirror reflecting the Chinese policy of annihilating the Tibetan culture and the Tibetan identity inside Tibet. Her solid determination, unflinching perseverance, a quiet sense of equanimity in face of distress and deep faith in religion exemplifies the characteristics of the Tibetan people and their strength in challenging a huge power like China. Through her, we discover the life of Tibetan people in exile: their sad past memories; their present struggle; their hopes and fears for the future.

The set up of the documentary has a fictional touch with 2 main actors, an old lady and a young boy, departing on a mission to see the Tibetan refugee settlements and encounter the people in charge of various sectors concerning the life of the refugees .

The theme:
The struggle of a people in exile for the preservation of their identity
